MISTAKE US FOR FRIENDS SIGN TO STRUCK DUM RECORDS

Hamilton based punk quartet Mistake Us For Friends are happy to announce they have just signed to Glasgow record label Struck Dum Records.
The fast-paced melodic punk band have spent years building a committed fanbase in Glasgow, whilst dedicating time to secure their technical abilities as a group. After years of rehearsing, gigging, and a few demos later, the band finally took time to record a full length album. Struck Dum are set to release 'Kill The Composer' at the end of April, to be available online and in selected record stores.

THE HEDRONS DEBUT ALBUM BREAKS THE TOP 40 IN UK INDIE ALBUM CHART

Glasgow band The Hedrons are pleased to announce that they have made a mighty return to the official UK indie charts with their debut album 'One More Won't Kill Us' where it was a new entry in the indie album chart at number 39.
The 4-piece girl band, whose previous singles have achieved both top 5 and top 20 indie success, will also take part in an event showcasing some of the bands heading out to South by Southwest 2007. The event, which will take place at King Tut's on 26th February, will be hosted by BBC Scotland's Vic Galloway and will also feature Errors and The Twilight Sad.

T Break closing date next month

Since 1996, T Break has supported thousands of aspiring musicians including The 'Cinematics', Lizard King's hottest new signing 'Drive-By Argument' and current cult-heroes 'Biffy Clyro'.
Now it's your chance.
For the twelfth year Tennent's and their panel of industry judges are looking for the best new talent in Scotland. They want to hear from the hottest unsigned musicians, music journalists and photographers.
Send in your demos before March 5th and it'll go straight to T Break's panel of industry experts including representatives from our partners at DF concerts, Radio 1, PRS, Fopp and Sunday Herald.
The best 48 will play T Break Showcases which take place at Edinburgh's Liquidroom 3-6 May and Glasgow's King Tut's Wah Wah Hut 7-10 May where you'll play in front of the panel as well as A&R representatives and other key music industry members.
12 bands will then be invited to play the T Break Stage at the UK's number one Festival, T in the Park.

Your band's chance to make it big

'Making It' is Big in Falkirk's hot new live music competition, open to performers looking to get noticed in the Scottish music industry.
Big in Falkirk is an event which has attracted performances from Snow Patrol, Orson, The Stranglers, Sandi Thom and Midge Ure in the past, and now invites the great Scottish musicians to give it all they've got for the chance to play the the 8th annual Big in Falkirk event.
The competition goes as follows; visit www.biginfalkirk.com to fill out an application form before February 28th, from there a selection of bands will be invited to showcase at two heats taking place in Rialto, Falkirk on 15 and 16 March.
The final heat will be held at Glasgow’s The Classic Grand on 23 March with the overall winner decided on the night.
The winner will receive instruments and equipment supplied by Sound Control, record a session on one of Real Radio’s stations, secure a 25 minute set on the Real Radio Music Stage at Big in Falkirk 2007 and essentially become a step closer to contacts and industry peeps through local media exposure!
This competition is a MUST for every aspiring act in Scotland. This competition is open to ALL styles of music, so you've nothing to lose!
